History

Founded by veterans of the management information systems and computer consulting industries, Summit Technology Services, Inc. is a Software, Hardware, Professional, and IT Engineering consulting and staffing firm.  Located in Wellsville, NY Summit began doing business in March of 1993 as Summit Technology Group. In July of 1996 Summit was incorporated under the name Summit Technology Services, Inc., and Craig Burdick became the president and owner.

Summit-TSI began marketing its services across the United States to businesses and corporations of all size from Fortune 500 to small local companies.  In 2002 Summit became a DoD cleared facility at the Secret level providing cleared engineers, developers, and systems integrators to clients in support of government and DoD projects.  2004 marked the first year that Summit-TSI was recognized as the area’s Small Business of the Year for outstanding commitment and service to community.

Throughout the years, Summit’s relationships with its clients and employees have expanded to service many industries and business sectors.  With an ever-growing number of specialized projects supported, Summit Technology Services, Inc. is a proven leader and is positioned to help all our clients, past, present, and future succeed.

Our Core Team

Craig Burdick
President/FSO

Craig graduated from Brockport State University in 1977 with a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics.  Early in his career he worked as programmer/analyst and systems analyst for Combustion Engineering in NY and Collins & Aikman Corp. in NC.  In 1983 Craig joined Broadway & Seymour Inc. and began consulting as a Sr. Systems Analyst/Project Manager. After two years he was promoted to Area Consulting Manager where he began his career selling professional services and managing/building successful consulting organizations.

In 1992, he joined Summit Computer Services, Inc. as a Director of Consulting Services. Craig established Summit in New York State in 1993 and incorporated the company in 1996 taking over as president and owner. With the approval of a facility clearance, Craig holds a personal clearance at the Secret level and is also the lead Facility Security Officer.

As an Information Systems professional, Craig has built Summit-TSI into a reputable, leading Software Engineering consulting services firm. Craig’s management, consulting, and technical background spans over 40 years. Craig has been a board member for various organizations, including Executive Finance Chair Person for the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce, and currently sits on the board for Wellsville Economic Development. With this expertise, Craig manages the corporate operations, new client development, and engineering services group at Summit Technology Services, Inc.

Mary Piscitelli
Office Manager

Mary joined Summit in October of 2007 as an Administrative Manager and Recruiter.  She is a graduate of Alfred State College with a Business Administration and Marketing degree.  Mary had over 15 years in the cable industry before joining Summit and she specializes in multitasking while overseeing general office operations including, accounting, payroll, human resources, recruiting, and coordination.

Mary is a key role in Summit’s daily success and has been a longstanding, loyal contributor to the corporation.

Sean Burdick
Manager, Engineering Services/Business Development

Sean is a 2005 graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a B.S. in Business Information Systems.  Starting his career in the pipeline industry working for Otis Eastern Service as a Field Office Manager, he traveled throughout the Northeast in support of many pipeline construction projects.  He gained experience while overseeing jobsite logistics, purchase orders, subcontracts, budgets, and payroll, as well as aspects of safety and communications with headquarters.

In early 2011 Sean moved on and began working at Corning Incorporated on contract through Summit as a Strategic Sourcing Buyer.  In this role he oversaw and managed many capital contracts across several business divisions and locations ranging from construction to process equipment and services. While at Corning, Sean excelled in strategic negotiations, vendor management, and contract administration.

In late 2015 Sean began transitioning to a full-time Summit employee and in January of 2016 the transition was complete.  At Summit, Sean manages and develops the relationships with current and prospective clients, manages contracts with both clients and employees, and manages many of the day-to-day operations. He holds a DoD clearance at the Secret level and also acts as a co-FSO for cleared projects.
